Jul 17, 2012 9:21 AM in response to fredgesby bonynge,I've tried that as well, but it didn't work. On thursday I'm taking my iMac into Stormfront in Newbury. An Apple reseller. They are going to run a diagnostics check on it. Watch this space, I will report back.

Jul 17, 2012 9:36 AM in response to bonyngeby jonjardine,Setting your wifi router (e.g. Airport) to use specific channels works perfectly for me. I've posted earlier in this discussion exactly how to check the channels and how to set them.
I've been using this solution for over a month now and I haven't had any problems.

Jul 17, 2012 12:36 PM in response to bonyngeby jonjardine,It should - quick Google provided this BT link:
If it supports 5GHz, use that, otherwise try different channels - check which channels other wifi networks are using by option (alt) clicking on the wifi menu in the menu-bar and hovering over each network to see which channel it's using.

Jul 17, 2012 3:10 PM in response to theneb.bstlby Rupy Aggies,Same problem here. Imac 21 mid 2011, connection drops after the display goes to sleep. Getting freaking annoying as I have to manually connect to my wifi everytime I use my computer. Tried deleting plist, creating a new network, but now I will follow the method of increasing the computer sleep timer to 16 minutes. See how it goes!

Jul 17, 2012 11:02 PM in response to theneb.bstlby swiss_dom,Obviously there's a bug! Got the same problem as you all guys. Since updated on 10.7.4... it doesn't mather which settings I put on (energy saving settings, first on a list, etc etc). Generally I drop my Mac to resting state (Ruhezustand in german). I actually never shut down my Mac, in prior versions never had a problem with WIFI! And there is certainly no problem with airport/router cause all my other gadgets are in contact.
so far, looking forward to get an other update!
update:
sure, if anything of your "work-arounds" would fix the problem in any way - it doesn't matter for me! Actually I'm just a normal-user. If anything worked before, I'm glad to keep this in future as well!
update 2:
I'm a little bit confused... just found this: they had the same problem in a earlier version (10.7.3 !!!)...:http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4209?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

Jul 18, 2012 10:02 PM in response to theneb.bstlby Rupy Aggies,It has been one day and one day of no drops. Changing the computer sleep timer to 16 minutes worked for me! Real sloppy solution but hey, its works and I am fine w that.

-
Jul 20, 2012 7:16 AM in response to Bill F.by jonjardine,It's the "Modulation and Coding Scheme" index (http://mcsindex.com/) - ignore!
