As I said before ... please DO NOT jailbreak.  People like me in this forum like to help others, but we CANNOT help with jailbreak.

And your continued efforts to try to find ways around Apple's policies on jailbreak may get you warned or blocked from the forum for any purpose, or this discussion removed at the very least.

Sorry for the strength of my last post.  I would prefer to be very nice while being helpful.

    Good luck in your Apple-journeys.

Nonsense. We won't report him to Apple - Apple wouldn't care - and Apple would not and could not take anything away from him. There's nothing illegal about jailbreaking. It just isn't supported by Apple and voids all support from them for the device. Anyone who jailbreaks their device is completely on their own should problems arise.

That's totally false.  We don't care what you or anyone else does with their devices.  What we care about is helping people resolve any legit issues they may be having.  With that being said, jail breaking and the issues that may arise afterwards are not legit issues for us to help people resolve.

As for having ones devices confiscated, that is totally false.  Once you pay for something, it is yours, and unless the item is legally prohibited like controlled substances, certain fire arms, and other dangersous devices, no one can legally take it from you.

Sorry for resurrecting a somewhat-old thread, but there is one thing that hasn't been pointed out:

Just because your friend's warranty is void does not mean that he shouldn't unjailbreak. A lot of potential problems can be avoided by unjailbreaking.
