There are a number of threads from other people reporting the same iTunes connection issue, it looks like there might be a problem at Apple's end - but you could try logging out of your account on the iPhone by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if it then works, but it probably won't until Apple's fixed it

Ditto here trying to connect to iTunes store so I can use my iMatch and it won't connect on my iPhone. Tried logging out and logging back in. Tried powercycling. Got nowhere with it. My computer can plays the files just fine but I was wanting to leave the house with those music files on my phone not grounded to the house in order to hear it. I hope they fix this soon.

I am trying to update my payment details as my card is due to expire and I can download free apps but when I go to buy an app and update my details; it says 'Cannot connect to Itunes'.
Anyone else had this problem in the last couple of days?

well, I still cannot get onto itunes service on the iPhone or iPad.
HOWEVER, I can login to iTunes and download stuff on the PC... So I'll do that for now.
Maybe Apple dont know its down for devices and need someone to ring their premium rate number to tell them.

You need to go to safari and enter site. Will ask you password. Then you can go to itune store.

I can log in to iTunes and download music and see top apps etc. I just can't update apps. I get the can't connect to iTunes store message. The only way to update apps is to sync with computer and that is a pain.

On the iMac, I had to add the answers to the three Security questions.
On the iphone 4, I can still get free downloads on the Apple Store but cannot update my existing applications as "not connected to iTunes".
I have resynchronised the phone via the mac.
I have cancelled the Store application on the iphone and relinked.
The iCloud on the iphone seems to be working perfectly as I get mail etx.

Fortunately I have an iphone AppleCare programme. After an hour and 15 mins on the phone, the second level help desk got me to reinitialise the iphone (after saving it of course) and reinstall as a new phone. This I did and was able to connect to Apple Store from the iphone.
I then resynchronised my applications an now all is well.
About 5 hours work in all to solve thi problem.
