Happened 3 times in last 10 minutes, just drops off but still says wi-fi on. Works fine on wake up, it just seems a problem when in use.

As for Apple care, a normal warranty should cover a reasonable expectation of the products life. We should not be given only 4 months of phone troubleshooting, {I think thats correct}, its too hard to find out the full details at present and thier web site seems designed to stop you from actually contacxting them in person.

My mac is only about 6  months old.

Guys! Guys! I fixed it! 100% Gauranteed Solution!

I have been deling with this issue for months since I upgraded my iMac to Lion back in March. I have tried everything, and never been able to totally fix the problem.

This weekend, after a couple of days of constant drops and download speeds measured in bytes, I had had enough.

I downgraded back to Snow Leopard!!!

    Problem solved.

I'll miss full screen apps and auto-save, but a computer without functioning internet is not a functioning computer.

I do have now 3 months this Wi-Fi drops. nothing help, i was in contact with a-specialists they give me message: we could not help. thats iin real, i need to accept this.

we do need to seperate the Wi-Fi soruces:

    - in Mac-OS -> is fixed

    - using TC or AirP with Firmware V7.6 above

The Firmware V7.5 works fine, but is on Generation 4 Hardware no more supported

it depends in wich area you are, it works fine or not.

And my friend who has a mac without having the OS LION can still use the wifi, and he is living next to my room. Can anyone help me?

Well, I finally got tired of waiting.  My Toshiba has been replaced with an Asus instead of a MB Air.

I'll still buy the Imac i was planning on later this year, but have decided against going entirely Apple for the household at this point.  So one sale lost as a result of this issue, and another sale indefintitely delayed.

    Enjoy Windows.

What you've done is akin to worrying about spraining your ankle so you instead decide to cut off your foot.

Having used both for the last 6 years, I obviously disagree.  Windows has a come a long way and Apple has deteriorated in some areas (see this thread).  The choice is not as easy as it once was.  I'll stick with both at this point.

Finaly i've solved Apple's problem. I bought myself a seperate USB WIFI adapter. WIFI is stable since that moment

It's a bloddy shame that Apple don't solve this problem for their customers. We all bought a expecive iMac and have to buy a 9,99 adapter to let the wifi work properly.

    Shame on you Apple!

That is totally ridiculous. Never heard of a Windows notebook having a problem like this, especially on a brand new unit.

The USB Wifi is the solution....Apple is pathetic on this issue....It's been well over a year and no real solution...

I guess there too busy building iPads to worry about building a functioning computer.

I filed a bug report, was given instructions for how to enable debugging and get logs, since enabling debugging 3 days ago, it's worked fine. Before it would stop working a few times a day, or every few miniutes if I'm playing media from network.

It could be a concidence.. but it hasn't worked properly for even a day since upgrading to Lion or Mountain Lion.

But there's no harm in trying.

    Run this then reboot:

    sudo /usr/libexec/airportd debug +alluserland +alldriver +allvendor +LogFile

I resolved the wifi dropping issue on iMac by purchasing a USB WIFI adaptor.  After a month, this solution continues to work.

But why buy a Mac for tons of money and then have to buy an adapter, use one of your USB ports for that adapter as you only have 2 of them, when it should work as expected. Very foolish.
