It doesn't matter, you can sync anyway with your iTunes.

I think you miss understood me, I know you can still sync with itunes. I just don't want those two diffrent names on. this is what is happening: my name is on my Ipad and when i plug into itunes, but when i plug in my computer comes up with "mass storage device" and says my sisters name. everything is fine i just want to fix that little problem.

You can try a Restore on your iTunes.

This article explains how to change the name of the device.

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3965

You probably know all of this already, but you could try changing the name again - to your own name - and see if that works.

I do not use Windows, but this may be more a function of the Windows OS and you may need to find out how to change the name via some Windows method.

    IVe had this happen too

IE my iPads name is ipad2 and my phone is name iPhone 4s

They are synced to different computers.

One day when I plugged ipad2 into iphone4s computer to get pictures.

My ipad2 is referred to as iphone4s only in mass storage device name under " my computer"

    Its a windows thing

It doesn't seem to harm anything

Ill have to ask my uncle how he fixed it.

I think the device drivers in windows got dumped and when it auto installed them again on the computer after plugging the ipad2 in, it corrected the naming problem.

As myech states ...... "Its a windows thing"

This is what I was trying to tell you. More than likely it is the way that Windows named the device. And since you synced with your sisters PC, that is what caused the problem.

No I don't know which driver.

Iknow it doesn't bother anything having the different names appear ( other than it being a visual annoyance ), so long as it matches in iTunes your ok.

I don't mean to mislead, when my uncle fixed it I may have heard a different language and said yes when he was done. I'll try to be more clear in specifying " im not sure " before a possible antidote next time. I was trying to convey mostly that it is harmless.

Ill have to ask him, until then ...

don't go deleting drivers and such unless you know what your doing.

Unless someone else here has the answer?
