Jul 26, 2012 8:03 AM in response to arzboyby PenSilveltMEKY,I have the same issue. This was one app I have been waiting for ever since the beta lunch, it is really
disappointing. I'm now worrying I will lose all my notes. I hope someone at Apple is working on a fix.

Jul 26, 2012 9:08 AM in response to arzboyby arzboy,Funny thing is I loaded Mountain Lion on my MacBook and Notes are working fine! Notes is failing to open on my iMac. I wonder if this has anything to do with the various models?

Jul 26, 2012 9:55 AM in response to arzboyby hi-i'm-jan,There might be a solution:
I copied the Notes app and tried to run the copy, but it crashed as usual. The I removed it, opened the original Notes app and boom! It worked. Maybe it's just coincidence but maybe not.
I would like to hear if this works for you, too!

Jul 26, 2012 10:37 AM in response to arzboyby JustinIllig,I just Contacted Apple Support about this issue. Here are a few thing they had me try. They were not successful but they might work for you:
1. click on mac HD/ libraray /caches. drag all the contents in the folder to the trash
2. click on the finder click go, hold the option key and clikc on libraries (will not appear if you don't hold the option key). go to the caches folder again and again drag everything in the folder to the trash.
3. click on the finder click go, hold the option key and clikc on containers. Drag com.apple.notes to the trash
4. restart your computer.
5. empty trash.
6. try to open notes again.
If this works great, if not go to system preference/ users and groups. Create a test user. Log out of you current user and log in to your test user. Open notes.
I did this and notes worked on my test user but agian not on my regular user... They sent my crash info into an engeneer for more details i will repost once i hear back from them with a solution.

Jul 26, 2012 12:18 PM in response to arzboyby bvineyard1221,I was having the same problem; I fixed it by turning off Notes for a Microsoft Exchange account in "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" in System Settings.
I'm not sure why that helped, but Notes stays open for me now.

Jul 27, 2012 4:16 PM in response to arzboyby keithgee,I had the same issues, but now it's working. I disabled many of my accounts in the Mail, Contacts, and Calendar panel of System Preferences after reading this thread, but I don't think that's what fixed it. (It's hard for me to keep track.)
I hadn't used the Mail application in a long time, so when I finally opened it I was asked to wait while it upgraded the format of the existing mail messages. When it was finished, I exited Mail, and now I'm able to open and use the Notes application without it crashing.
