Jul 26, 2012 4:27 PM in response to gorpby Kappy,- Power Nap requires a Mac notebook with built-in flash storage. May require a firmware update.
- Supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer).
Your model is not supported.

Jul 26, 2012 4:32 PM in response to Kappyby gorp,And you are saying that the Late 2010 has no Flash Storage? I beg to differ!

Jul 26, 2012 4:34 PM in response to gorpby Kappy,I'm not saying anything. Those are Apples constraints. Notice that you need a 2011 model, not 2010.

Jul 26, 2012 4:37 PM in response to Kappyby gorp,The information was that the 2011 upwards level needed a Flash upgrade, not that my model wasn't suporrted with this feature.

Jul 26, 2012 4:40 PM in response to gorpby Kappy,I suggest you argue with Apple. You have their information. It has nothing to do with the requirement for the firmware update required for all the supported models and was released yesterday.
Apple Store Customer Service at 1-800-676-2775 or visit online Help for more information.
To contact product and tech support visit online support site.
You can complain to them about it.

Jul 26, 2012 4:44 PM in response to gorpby gorp,With all due respect the information prior to release was not indicating that models prior to 2011 couldn't support this feature.
May I sak politely if you are connected in any way with Apple?
-
Jul 26, 2012 4:53 PM in response to gorpby Kappy,I am not connected with Apple. So give up on your urge to say I'm just a fanboy who will always support whatever Apple does. I'm just telling you what it is. I can't change it and neither can you. It is what it is.

Jul 26, 2012 5:32 PM in response to gorpby Kappy,That will be my pleasure. If you are an IT professional, then I'm president of Apple.
Bye bye.

Jul 26, 2012 9:31 PM in response to gorpby bigblue168,From the info on Apple UK's website, it did support MBA Late-2010: http://www.apple.com/uk/osx/specs/
But on the Apple US website, it stated differently. http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
Anyone know why?

Jul 26, 2012 9:36 PM in response to bigblue168by KC7GNM,Bigblue that is a good question just looked and if I was in the UK my MBA would support power nap yet in the US it won't. Did they make different MBA's for England? (sarcasim off) I know they didn't but it was probably a web coding error.

Jul 26, 2012 9:38 PM in response to KC7GNMby bigblue168,I don't know. I'm from Taiwan.
It seems that that spec also showed up on their Germany site. So I assume it appeared on all their European websites.

Jul 26, 2012 9:41 PM in response to bigblue168by KC7GNM,Well mine is late 2010 too and should work according to every site except the US one. LOL. I don't care either way since I don't have apple TV anyways so doesn't bother me.

Jul 26, 2012 9:42 PM in response to gorpby William Lloyd, gorp,
A little friendly advice. The fact that Kappy has 154,000 "points" actually indicates that AT LEAST 15,000 people have found answers of his very helpful in solving their problems here in the forums. So 15,000 TIMES he has helped people resolve their problems. That's a lot of help.
I don't honestly know how he has the time to do it, because that's probably 50,000 posts or more, with real substantial data.
He was simply telling you what Apple notes are the machines that support Power Nap. Apple says Mid-2011 or later can support it, and your machine is older. He can't change your machine, and he can't change your policy. I'm surprised an "IT professional" isn't familiar with how computers work.
Actually, I'm not.
