Q: Batch Convert .wav to .aif for Logic

I have thousands of third party .wav sounds and loops that I am trying to get to work with Logic and show in the Loop browser but it seems that these files need to be converted to .aif

Is there an easy way to do a batch convert of .wavs to turn them into .aif?

Thanks.

    Try the following it may work:

        a)    open a new project

        b)    import the audio you want to convert into the Audio Bin

        c)    Under Edit choose 'Select All'

        d)    Under Audio File choose 'Copy/Convert File(s)'

        e)    In the now appearing window choose under File conversion settings:

                            - File Format  -> AIFF

        d)    press save

    en voilà!

    Have a nice day

    I will aslo add, its probably best to batch convert the sounds to AIFF and the loops to CAF. without doing so, you will not be able to loop without timesatretching or flex. Flex, while awesome doesnt sound better than granular CAF, and timestretching means you must make a copy every time and do it by hand which slows you down.

    If you drag in all oyur samples and batch convert them to AIFF, then your loops and batch convert them in groups (seperated by tempo), you get a much more consistent Apple Loops experience with non of the hassle later on.

    I guess I should've posted my solution a long time ago.  I ended up using Audio-Converer from the App store.  It worked really well and was very fast at converting a number of file types.  Hope this helps.
