Right, did a few searches but couldnt find any helpful results.

I recently bought a pair of Philliphs SHB9100 wireless headphones. Very nice, but I when I go to 'Add a new bluetooth device' in the System Preferences, it doesnt show up. I can pair them easily with my Android phone, so it doesnt seem to be an issue with the actual headphones themselves. I had a look at the FAQ's on the Phillips website and it mentioned these two types of software:

  • Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP)
  • Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP)

Do I need to install one of these to get them to work? I'm really not sure.

Mac is OSX Lion 10.7.4, Mid 2011.

Any help will be appreciated.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

    This worked for me

Press and hold the on/off button until the light indication flashes consecutively in red for 4 times.

The headset is now in pairing mode and is ready to pair with the mobile phone/computer.

    Hope it helps

I have the same device, it pairs normally. I had done as psybonix instructions, before reading here. My problem is that I get only the output audio, not the input from the headphone's microphone, which works fine on the iPhone. Has anyone used it both for output and input audio?

Yes, it works for both input and output audio. But for some reason, when I try to use both, the output audio gets all muffled, echoed. So I kinda gave up using it as a microphone on the Mac.

You can select the input audio device in "Settings > Sound > Input" (not sure it's the exact translation on an english Mac, I'm a french user).

Another question, clicking the right ear buttons seems to trigger iTunes. Can I deactivate this ?
