Jul 26, 2012 4:16 AM in response to ZoeCCby léonie,Try if this download link for the trial version still works: if yes, you can unlock it with your serial number from the boxed version:
To be able to run the installer in Mountain Lion you will have to change the System Preferences "Security & Privacy" temporarily to allow "Applications downloaded from anywhere"

Jul 27, 2012 11:58 PM in response to léonieby jaimieH,I have upgraded Aperture from 1.5 onwards. My last upgrade consisted of installing the Aperture 3 Trial and then applying the new serial number to activate it.
I upgraded to Mountain Lion by clean install (I upgraded in place for Lion but I like to do a clean install every so often) and looked for the Aperture Trial. All of the normal links have been disabled as it is no longer offered so I searched and found this thread, downloaded the Trial, installed it, applied the serial number and it just goes straight back to the Authorize, Buy, Continue dialog. I ran Software Update and tried again with the same result.
So, how do I get my fully licensed copy of Aperture 3.3.2 back on my machine? Any ideas?

I think I misunderstood your question, sorry.
I keep getting this error message "To open Aperture, Installer must quit and reopen"
That is not an error message, just a warning, that the installer will have to relaunch to be compatible with the new MacOS. The Installer can run in 32bit mode or 64 bit mode, and it has to relaunch in the correct mode for the software to be installed.
Press "o.k." and it should reinstall you Aperture version as usual.
I just tried a reinstall from my boxed version in Mountain Lion, and running the installer from the retail DVD succeeded without problems.

If you bought upgrades beginning from version one, you may have an upgrade serial numbers. Then you need to enter them all, see: Troubleshooting Professional Application Serial Numbers
If this does not help, contact Apple:
see: Pro Application Replacement Serial Numbers
