    Hi..

    If you have anti virus software installed, you may need to disable that before signing in to the App Store.

    If you have Little Snitch installed, that can prevent access to the App Store.

    Hi..

    That is rerferrring to iCloud services, not the App Store.

    I have iCloud but no issues accessing the iTunes or Mac App Stores.

    Hi,

    I have exactly the same problem. My Apple ID works EVERYWHERE except to connect to App Store.

    Did you find out what causes the issue?

    Best regards

    Pierre

    Did anybody solve this problem ?

    I am really a little lost because I cannot update from appstore. Funny, on my MacBook everything works fine. It might be a problem of connection.

    P.S. No Firewall, no Antivirus, no Little Snitch... and the internet connection works fine too...

    Any idea ?

    Thanks for help... URGENT - URGENT !

    Exactly the same thing is happening to me (late 2011 MacBook Air running Lion, 10.7.4.) Internet connection fine, iOS devices accessing store with no problem, password up to date, no problems with iTunes Store or Software Update.  I'm also not running any anti-virus programs.

    I've tried a lot of the fixes that have been suggested in this and other forums, including:

    * Deleting numerous .plist files

    * Deleting numerous cookies and cache files

    * Mucking around with certificate settings

    * Checking date-time settings

    * Repairing permissions

    I'm about to make an extremely inconvenient drive to a not-that-nearby Apple Store to see whether the Genius Bar folks can help.  If they can solve the problem, I'll share their solution. In the meantime, will follow this thread.  I really want to update my apps and download Mountain Lion, and this has been extremely frustrating!

    Dear Julie,

    thanks for your answer. As I live on Mallorca / Spain, there is no real Apple store and no "Genius" around here at the island. I would be very pleased if you could find a solution and publish it here. Thanks for your help !

    Paul - very frustated too :-)

    I doubt they can fix this at the Genius Bar. Spent about 2 hour with support on this and has moved up to the programming dept.. They should be calling at the first part of the week.  I will pass on this thread to them to show that this is a bigger problem.

    This fixed it for me without apple help.  Just applied these fixes and it worked!

    mixdoctor -- Unfortunately, I've tried the solution in your link too, and it did nothing.  I've repeatedly deleted plist files and caches, and re-set the VeriSign certificate preferences.

    The Genius Bar reps set up a dummy account on my Air, and it had the same problem.  So, they determined that this was happening at the OS level, not at the user level.  (I knew this, since my account works for everything else, including iTunes, this forum, and the App Store on my iPad.)

    The Genius Bar people suggested that I re-install Lion, but I also noted that in the link shared by mixdoctor, that procedure didn't help the blogger who posted it. I'm not eager to go through a re-install until I've exhausted all other options.

    One thing that I noticed:  All of the affected VeriSign options were easy to change except one: VeriSign Class 3 Public Primary Certification Authority - G5.  I absolutely cannot change it to "System Defaults." However, it's stuck on "Always Trust", so wouldn't that prevent rather that cause connection problems? (And I don't know whether it has anything to do with the App Store, since my familiarity with VeriSign certificates is very limited.)

    So frustrating! I'll keep in touch if anything changes ....

    Go back to keys than certificates type in class  and any one with a blue plus needs to change. On the one the says always trust (G5) go in and change just ssl cert to no value than close it will ask for for password to save. once you do that reopen and change to use system default and save. It will ask for password again and try it.

    This will work

    Wow -- mixdoctor, I was able to do this and it worked.

    The funny thing was: I couldn't do this until after I restored my system from a backup!  I had been able to reset the four or five other certificates that had the "blue plus" (custom settings) indication, but not G5.  It simply wouldn't take. It wouldn't prompt me for a password (which the successful changes did) and wouldn't save the changes.

    After the full restore from a day-old backup (made before I started messing with cache and .plist files), it worked fine.

    Thanks!
