I played with it before connecting it to the PC. It worked fine. After connecting to itunes, the screen has a white box and is unresponsive. I have tried reinstalling itunes, restoring to factory settings etc. no luck. help more

Otherwise is the Nano is as new as you say it is, return it to original play or purchase either for your money back or a replacement unit.
