If any of you have yahoo mail can you please tell me if you're experiencing the same problems that I am. From my inbox I can see that the pulldown menus to move folders or to mark emails as unread now have a "go" button next to them. Almost as if Java isn't working on Safari 6 or something. Before you simply pulled down which folder you wanted to move your message to and it did it automatically. Also when I'm viewing a message and I delete it or move it to a folder it now transfers me back to the inbox whereas before it would go to the next message in that folder. Sometimes when I click on the first message in my inbox it will not have the "previous" or "next" clickable link  where did before, now they're grayed out. All these issues are only happening with Safari 6. On my Snow Leopard machine I do not have these issues or using Firefox I do not have these issues. Please let me know what you find or if you have any info about this thank you.

You might need to install the latest version of Java.  Try doing this:

    Open Applications->Utilities->JAVA Preferences.

It will prompt that noversion exists and will check

for one.  Click okay and it will find and install.

Just went through that myself and should give

    you version 1.6.33-b03-424.

As soon as Montian Lion finished intalling the first thing I noticed was in Yahoo Mail Clasic there is no longer a "check all" but everything is still the same in Google Chrome. Why is Safari stupid now?

It will be a huge inconvenence if I can only deleat one email at a time.

Also I did update Java as well as check for any avalible updates.

    Any one else with this?

    Anyone have any ideas?

Not sure which Yahoo e-mail I have, but I do have the option to "check all".  I can't imagine that Safari could remove a function that Yahoo has placed on it's mail site.

I have yahoo clasic, been using it for years now, and only after Mountain Lion did it change.

Still looks and works the same in Chrome but missing the check all box in safari.

I cant think of what would be diferent on my mac than others.

Guess I should just wait and see if other people expereance problems as more people start using Moutain Lion.

I know Yahoo e-mail uses Java a lot.  As long as you are running Java 1.6.33 you are runing the latest version.  Can't think about what else could be doing that.

Since it's only Safari and not Chrome, the only thing I can think of is that its how Safari uses Java, not necessarily Java itself.

After all Java and Yahoo Mail Clasic are the only things that did not change.

I am not saying that apple removed functions from yahoo site but something has changed.

    Java SE 6   Apple Inc.    64-bit       1.6.0_33-b03-424

    Java SE 6   Apple Inc.    32-Bit      1.6.0_33-b03-424

I have only been using Mac for about two years, I know am not an expert. But dose apple have a help line or something for people with questions or problems?

Preferably one where the first question is not "can I have your credit card number"

For something like this, no.  I would try updating to the new version of Yahoo mail.  It's really sleak and moves fast.  You are running the latest version of Java, so I'm assuming the old version of Yahoo mail is the issue.

I understand your reasoning but I like the Classic and don't like the new version.

I never had a single problem until the moment I upgraded to Mountain Lion.

The OS is the only thing that changed.

so my choice is get ride of mail classic, or get rid of this wonderful new OS? I like what I am used to, I don't want to get rid of Mountain Lion just because a minor problem on major site is a huge problem. There has to be a solution or work around.

So far I did all the obvious things, Java, flash, reset Safari, check for any updates, what more can I do?

It is immensely frustrating when simple things become overcomplicated.

I cannot be the only one with this problem.

I'm the OP and I'm the one that listed the problem originally. I spent an hour with apple care and the genius level two guy suggested I wipe my whole system. LOL, for a 40MB app, yeah right. The issue with Safari 6 is javascript, according to yahoo javascript is turned off. If you try to change your classic yahoo mail to the newer version it will give you a javascript turned off error. So for whatever reason Safari 6 has javascript turned off even though it is clicked ENABLED in preferences. Crazy. I did find my solution though and that was to dump Safari 6 by giving myself "read and write" permissions and then dumping the safari chache, plist, and preferences files. Then I installed Safari 5.17 by downloading the dmg from the net using PACIFIST. I had complete directions but somebody at apple decided to delete the whole post.

    This is just stupid.

I opened yahoo classic in both Safari and in Chrome, and side by side I noticed all kinds of things missing in Safari.

I used to love apple, but this update is disappointing at best.

Safari is the most used app on just about any apple device, and its now the one with the most problems.

    this is just stupid.

I have the same problem.  And I have not installed Mountain Lion...merely the new Safari 6 Update.  I can't check "Delete All" in my Spam folder in Yahoo Classic.  The "Delete All" button is gone.

Also, and more maddeningly, outgoing e-mails no longer redognize my Contacts...and the "Insert address" function doesn't work.  I'm forced to open up my Contact list for EVERY e-mail I send...and can't copy to multiple people.

    What's up?

I do use Yahoo Classic....and I'm using the update to Safari 6...but with Lion...I don't feellike prematurely upgrading to Moiuntain Lion.
