And i am awake again, i already read this issue before iphone 4s is out. No facetime to iphone 4 coming in Middle East.
And stupid thing just got me, I received a iphone 4s gift bought from UAE and of course as expected no facetime at all.
But i have not lost my hope, i tried to restore it and select US as location and...
So I guess I have an incomplete iphone 4s since some of the carrier here in Oman already allowed facetime, viber and others

@ orphicpixel Its not the location selection which is blocking/Removing the FT feature from iPhone, it’s getting from model - ends with AE i think.
Its Ok that TRA requested and Apple blocked and blah blah blah…but at least apple should have given an option to enable it if it’s been restored from another country so that we can use it from outside even if the device is purchased from Middle east.

That should be the case, there should be a setting only to enable and disable or let the carrier do the task. Anyway, i got my facetime in my 4S... wink if you know what I mean...

You don't see Facetime because it's disabled due to your government's restrictions.
There's little point in showing a feature that you can't use.
If it was shown, then everybody would be saying 'why won't it work?'.

My advice is to read up on your purchases when making them in a country where you do not reside. The restrictions are well documented and published. It has made international news in technology at one point.
Education is key when making purchases

It's your own fault; don't try to place the blame elsewhere.
Take responsibility for your actions. You made a mistake and now you have to accept the consequences.
If you don't like the iPhone, sell it.

i see....its my fault that i walked into a store and decided to buy an iphone 4s.OR i was too ignorant not to think "wait, maybe facetime is missing". i dont have the full functionality of siri AND i dont have facetime.when it comes to Apple, you dont "think" or"start your own analysis and research" before buying a product.the name itself is more than enough.anyway i dont expect you to understand...and "taking responsibilties for own actions" is only applicable when youve done something wrong.

and you sound "chic" talking like this.think like a sensible man and tell me what did i do wrong. i see the commercials and ads in malaysia and buy it in Saudi. For God's sake tell me, how in my wildest dreams would ive imagined it not to have facetime?

It is certainly not Apples fault. Your situation is very unfortunate.
It seems your issue is with the Saudi governent.
It would not be legal for Apple to sell you an iphone with facetime in Saudi Arabia.

taking responsibilty for own actions?.......hmmmm......i guess then Apple shouldnt void our warranty when we jailbreak to make facetime work and take responsibiltiy for their own actions as well....right?
