Usually when you go to the phone's recent list, you either want to call back the number or check the most recent calls but funny, iphone4 made the list starts from the bottom (least recent) instead of the top (most recent).

Is there any setting/bug/way to fix this?

No, that's the way it is.  Most people want to see the latest call first (on top), since older calls have already been viewed.  Calls not previously viewed are in red.  If you want to suggest something different to Apple, post it on the Feedback page:

Yes I did, did you read your own message? _

"iphone4 made the list starts from the bottom (least recent) instead of the top (most recent)."

What you mean by "starts from the bottom" is unclear, but the phone does as you said; the bottom is the "least recent" and the top is the "most recent."

    Hi eddiemadcat,

    Hi memecutiezz,

You are AWESOME. I had this same problem and it was so frustrating.

I had restored from an old 3G iphone to a new 4G and the Recents call list would always load at a weird spot about 3/4 down the list. I just reset the settings and its all fixed! Whatever the problem was with the Recents list reseting helped.

Did you read the last 2 posts?- it did fix it for them, and there is no other fix.

I have been having the same problem. I expected the "Recents" list to show the most recent call, but my iPhone was always showing me the middle of the list (not the bottom/oldest like some people, although I notice from other posts that both issues are common). I'd like to see the most recent calls first, and therefore when I tap "Recents", I would have liked it to show the top of the list - therefore the most recent calls.

I have used my iPhone for 2 years. I originally started out showing the top of the list, so I completely understand that if I Reset All Settings it will restore the "Recents" view to work as it should. The problem is, I don't want to reset all my settings. I've gradually honed the way I interract with my iPhone every day so it just works the way I need it. I don't want all my apps in a different order, I don't want to lose all my notifications and sounds setttings.

So I completely understand why yzorg has made their comment. I suppose I can live with scrolling manually to what I want on the "Recents" page. It's a small price to pay, but it is useful to discuss these common issues on these Apple forums in case there is a less drastic solution that less technical people (such as myself) have missed.

I have to add here, I found all of modular747's posts completely unhelpful and bordering on rude. If you can't empathise with actual issues, and try to read between the lines of other user's posts to understand what their technical issue is, then please don't post responses on here. Rather than picking holes in the wording of people's explanation of the issue, help them to explain the issue better. And note that a solution that works for one person might not be appropriate for all.

If anyone does have an alternative resolution that makes the "Recents" list display at the top (immediately showing the most recent) when it loads, please do let me know.

    Thanks all

    Paul

PS I have tried restarting, closing down the app in multitasking pane, etc etc.

I was dubious about the (near) nuclear option of resetting all settings. I tried it anyway in the spirit of optimism. I am disappointed. Initially, the recent calls opened at the top. After that though, it returned to opening with the list queued to the middle - NOT the top.

Has someone overlooked the title of the section - RECENT calls... WHY WOULD I NOT WANT THE MOST RECENT CALL to appear when I select an option titled "recent calls?"

    Somebody dropped the ball

    Hi Walter,

When I reseted my iphone 4's settings, it did solve my problem and apparently benja_d's. But if you recently did that and it did not fix the problem then my guess would be that you have a newer iOS version cuz when we had that problem, it was almost 2 years ago. So maybe Apple has released newer iOS updates that prevent resetting all settings from fixing that problem. However, you might be able to find the solution to this problem by talking to Apple genius reps.

    Hope this helps,

    Memecutiezz

PS after I reseted my settings, I set back all settings I wanted. No big deal for me as I mostly used default settings anyway...
