My I pod just took a trip through the wash cycle of our washing machine. Now it does not turn on and the screen remains dark. Any hope?

Maybe. But you need to let it sit in a warm dry well-ventilated place for a few days to let the water inside evaporate. I heard that putting it in a bowl of dry rice helps.
