I just upgraded my late 2009 iMac to Mac OS X Mountain Lion.  Ever since the upgrade, everyone else's account (except mine) when they login asks for an apple id and to set up iCloud.  It accepts the credentials, but take a few minutes to continue the login and shows the swirly loading spinner.  Even after it is set up, it keeps asking for an Apple ID and password, or to skip, but still takes an additional 3 minutes to continue the login.  It looks as if the computer thinks hasn't been set up with an account and can't remember the credentials when we enter them in.  What should I do and how do I fix this?

On reason this could happen is that you have applications installed through the Mac App Store with a different Apple Id. Will continue to ask for that Apple Id until you enter it correctly or uninstall those applications.

As you're seeing this request as soon as you login, the problem must be related to one or more of your startup apps.
