I'm here to ask why it isn't possible to import the e-mail database (OLM file)  of Microsoft Outlook for Mac into Microsoft Outlook for Windows while it's no problem the other way round.

Since this generally seems to be a question one has to pose to Microsoft, I was calling their hotline today. They told me that the would be glad if they could offer this feature but that they aren't legally allowed to do so. The supporter said something about some kind of signature which Apple puts on the file and that the license agreement wouldn't allow it to import it into Outlook for Windows then.

In retrospect I find this explanation a bit strange since I don't see why Apple would mess around with teh OLM file which is created by Microsoft Office for Mac. So I'm wondering if the support guy missunderstood the question and tought that I was speaking about importing some Apple-Mail database into Outlook.

I also called the Apple support about this, but they couldn't tell me anything about it and asked me instead if I really want to transfer my mails and if it wouldn't be enough just to start with an empty mailbox...

So tought that maybe someone in the community can give me some additional information.

Thanks in advance!
