Trying to figure out which keys will allow me to page up and down, particularly on the web. Hate having to continuously press the up and down arrow
The spacebar to page down, shift spacebar to page up.
Use two fingers on your trackpad.
You can also use the "fn" key to modify the arrow keys:
fn+up = page up
fn+down = page-down
fn+left = top
fb+right = bottom
That simply saved my life. Thank you.
fn+shift+up = page up
fn+shift+down = page down
fn+up = scroll up } These will be the same in
fn+down = scroll down } some programs, but not all
Wow. The fn+shift+up works in applications like terminal. Saved my time and life. Thanks MarkPManning
I am using terminal and accessing some files. What should I do to scroll to a particular page in a 2000 page file? Can you help me?
Glad I could help for the first part.
For going to a specific line/page it depends what program you are using to edit the files as the commands will differ from program to program, that isn't part of the terminal itself. What command are you using to open the file?
perfect answer, idol of masses
@markwmsn, perfect 10 points. This really helps new mac users, people generally ignore minor stuffs like this. This was really useful.
Thanks it saved a lot of time
This is great for connecting to VPS servers over the command line.
