My 2009 macbook pro isn't working.  First, safari started running really slowly.  The pinwheel would pop up for like 5 minutes everytime I clicked on a link.  Now when I turn the computer on it stays stuck on the blue screen.  I did shut it down improperly a few times when the pinwheel was spinning nonstop, I don't know if that affected anything.  I haven't downloaded any new software lately or made any changes that would cause this problem.  I pretty much only use the computer for internet.  Any help is appreaciated!

my comp won't get past the blue screen.

Safe Boot by restarting your computer while holding down the "shift" key.  Safe booting disables all nonessential processes, often times allowing you to start up when you would otherwise crash.

As of OS X 10.5.6 Safe Boot deletes the dynamic loader shared cache location in the /var/db/dyld directory.  A corrupt cache here can cause the blue screen crash.  Once you restart normally, the cache will be recreated.  This should take care of the issue.

I believe it's Mac OS X?  It's whatever came standard on them in 2009.

Mac OS X versions (builds) for computers or check the label on the discs that came with your computer.
