Traveling to Cape Town in a couple of weeks.  Do I need a (special) converter to charge my Apple products?

iPad 2, Mac Pro and iPhoneS

    aristela,

Apple sells a World Travel Adapter Kit which was priced at 39 dollars when I bought it last year.  It has plug adapters which can be utilized practically anywhere in the world.

All of the Apple products that you listed have an automatic voltage switching feature which allows your devices to operate between 110 vac to about 250 vac at 50 to 60 hz. Plus, the wall charger that comes with the kit has this same voltage sensing feature.  So you do not need a voltage converter.

Apple chargers are rated 100-240 volts at 50-60 Hz...all that is needed is a plug adapter.  You can buy the World Traveler kit as Carolyn suggests, or in the US stop by a Radio Shack store and see if they have an adapter, or try the airport in Cape Town.  In Europe most international airports have plug adapters for sale, not sure about South Africa, though.

You can use them anywhere, all you need is the plug adapter...and, again, if you travel a great deal then the World Traveler Carolyn points you to is a great idea since it has plugs for almost anywhere in the world.
