Hello,

I recently upgraded to Mountain Lion (from lion) along with the rest of iAmerica. Since then, whenever I try to print on my HP OfficeJet 4500, the print queue on the printer proxy opens and the icon shows up on my dock but no window opens to show my printer status/jobs/etc. The program runs but I can't get a window to appear in any way.

Usually clicking on the icon in the Dock will open the status window.  If that does not work, you should be able to open the window from the menu bar item Window.

In this case, I would suggest we haul out the big guns rather than try a couple more intermediate steps.  I would ask that you reset the printing system.  You will then have to add your printer again.  That should eliminate whatever corruption occurred during the update to Mountain Lion.

If you want to do something a little easier than that, I would suggest that you delete the printer and re-add it. You can do this by going to system preferences, then clicking on Print & Scan, and then click the minus button, it will ask you if you want to delete the printer, say yes, and then click the plus button and click your printer, and then add it! This is what I did, and it helped, hope it works!

This deleting and adding the printer worked. Thanks.
