I`ve just installed OS X Mountain Lion and, out of the blue, it turns out that it is incompatible with Parallels? What options do I have? This just makes no sense!

Upgrade to the most recent version of Parallels - ParallelsDesktop-7.0.15104.778994.

How can this be done if Parallels cannot be started?

I am downloading it now and will report but Parallls seems to have identified the issue so the update should fix it.

Thank you.  The download and installation worked.

Go straight here if you get the message:

"Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac does not start after upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion: You can't use this version of the application "Parallels Desktop.app"

My Parallels is version 6 - do I have to pay to upgrade to 7?

When I was looking for an answer to my Parallels 7 problem I went to their web site.  They do discuss pricing if you upgrade from Parallels 6 but I did not get into the details since I had a different problem.

I suggest you visit their web site to see details.  I do not remember seeing a free option but, again, I didn't look very hard at Parallels 6 options.

Yes, it costs money to upgrade from Parallels 6 to Parallels 7.

When Parallels 7 came out I bought the upgrade while the initial offer was on - even though my machine wasn't capable of running it (I now have one that does). That offer ran out, but as the others have suggested, it may be worth asking them and they might do you a deal. Even without the deal, the upgrade isn't all that expensive.

For all of you who are using Parallels with Mountain Lion, could you open the Mac Console and let me know if you are getting Console messages like the following (same two messages but for various services: pbs, tccd, DictationIM, etc..)

I am getting those constantly, i.e., about 1,000 per hour, and only when I am running Parallels. These messages indicate that the Mac services are being killed (terminated) then they are re-opened very quickly (probably by the Mac OS) to be killed again in no time. I reported it to Parallels support and am awaiting an answer. Just wondering whether this is a common issue.

Thank you for checking and letting me know!

    Eric
