Yeah it is the MBP. If all devices connect without problem except for one then it is that one device that has the problem.
That's like saying I have 4 cars and I put the same gas in all 4 cars and all start and run without problems except one that does not start, so it must be the gas. No it is the car.

Just thought maybe I'm missing a setting in AirPort, but everything looks fine. Can't figure why it won't connect or even stay connected, but downgrading the router authentication to WEP gets me connected, however I'd prefer WPA if at all possible.

Have you run software update lately? Just a thought.
Then there is a problem with the driver/software for the Airport card.
Have you tried WPA2 with Personal as the encryption instead of AES or WPA PSK (TKIP)

Absolutely, my MBP is up to date with drivers, software, etc. like I mentioned, I never had an issue connecting elsewhere either, and I travel with my MBP.
By default, the Clear router is WPA2 PSK with TKIP encryption, however I know AES is more secure, but neither get me connected. I even whitelisted my MBP MAC address in case of any IP issues, but still nothing. Seems WEP is the only (other than completely open) authentication it'll handshake with through this router. I know, it's something, but WEP is like an unlocked door to your home.

Seems I've found the issue. A simple switching the radio channel from 'auto' to a static number in the router's admin panel seems to have cured it. My router isn't near any other wireless devices or a microwave, but I do have 3 or 4 neighbors near by that might have caused interference between my MBP and the router. Been stable now for about an hour without the dreaded 'connection timeout' error nor a password prompt upon wake or boot. Hope this may help others with a similar issue.
