Is there a way for me to delete Apps that are still listed in iTunes (for Mac) that aren’t used any more and even some from firms that aren’t around anymore?

iPod touch, iOS 5.0.1, 32 Gb

    Right click - Delete.

I tried that, but as I use a Magic Trackpad the normal single finger on the pad + control and delete didn't work. I ahte to need to ask this, but what should it be in this case?

You mean it did not delete it or it did not bring up the menu to delete it?

For the trackpad, you can set two finger tap (same as right click or ctrl click) through the contextual menu in System prefs > Trackpad.

In answer to your question-both were unsuccesful.

I looked once again at the contextual menu and it was set (as before) in the default factory position of a two finger tap brings up a contextual menu.

In here it does it works just fine, but in iTunes it doesn't. (I haven't checked other programs, but it never has been a problem before so I didn't see the need to look any further.)

(As you might need the info I'm using iTunes v10.6.3 in OS 10.7.4)

You are selecting Apps under Library on the left side of iTunes, correct?

Then attempting to delete it there?

How about holding Command and pressing Delete?

No I wasn't-I was attempting to delete from the Apps list I see when I go to the device in question, that's where I saw the troubling Apps so I didn't think about going anywhere else. But now that you've said what you did it works fine there. So thanks!

The way I dicovered to delete Apps from my PC is to click under the NAME list not the APP ICON itself. Right click on the NAME of the APP. Just deleted two. Thanks for all the above post that directed me to explore!
