How would you suggest I connect the two computers for direct transfer? By Thunderbolt?
Do you think direct ransfer is better, or should I transfer from an external drive which has Time Machine backups.
I also have Clones on the external drive. The external drive only has USB2 ports.
Thanking you

I have done what I needed to do using a Thunderbolt cable between the two Macs, and strictly following Kb/HT4889. It took about half an hour in total. But then, I probably did not have much data, apps, etc..
