Jul 6, 2012 6:41 AM in response to Charlie Chabanoby Nickbou,As of this morning I am still having a problem connecting. The error message has changed from "cannot connect to server" to "The Nike+ website is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." I've had this problem for a couple weeks now. I hope they get it fixed soon!

Jul 6, 2012 11:20 AM in response to Nickbouby Boullederose,See :
ipod nano and nike plus
Is this the same problem?
“Nike+ Active is taking a break.
The site will be down while we move to the new Nike+. Your steps, runs and gym workouts are safe and sound. When Nike+ Active returns this fall, your data will be there -- on a platform that lets you do more than ever before. Thanks for conquering the world with us, and, in the meantime, check out the new Nike+.”

Jul 8, 2012 5:44 PM in response to Charlie Chabanoby Blazer Maniac,I have also been having the issue where it says the Nike Plus website is temporarily unavailable. I am using Windows and an iPod Nano. Called Nike and they say they are aware of an issue . Hopefully it will be resolved soon. I ran my first half marathon and now can't upload the data.

Jul 8, 2012 6:44 PM in response to Charlie Chabanoby mgosman,If there is any advice I can offer-don't do a restore to your Nano Blazer...I did the restore, then talked with Apple and within 3 days the issue was fixed and I was able to connect. Because I did the restore I lost all my data-A LOT of good run data was lost just like you I am training for 1/2 marathon and had some great data. Apple knows it's a problem, Nike knows it's a problem...but after 5 days of me getting the 'problem with the server' message it finally worked again. Stay the course and keep trying each day is all I can say. Good luck.

Jul 10, 2012 5:48 PM in response to Charlie Chabanoby TSchommer,I was actually able to sync my iPod Nano this evening for the first time in weeks. Anyone else have any luck?

Jul 10, 2012 6:43 PM in response to TSchommerby PedroPK,Hey, it looks to be true!.
I didn't receive any Connection Error message today.
I didn't have any running data to send, but I will test it tomorow.
I will post any result in here.

Jul 11, 2012 8:42 AM in response to Charlie Chabanoby Blazer Maniac,I can confirm that I am now able to sync my iPod Nano to Nike+ (after having the connection issue for about 2-3 weeks). It did upload the couple of runs that had not synced yet so that was good.

Jul 14, 2012 12:09 PM in response to Boullederoseby Nickbou,No. The Nike+ website stores the run data, not the Nike+ Active website.

Jul 14, 2012 12:15 PM in response to Charlie Chabanoby Nickbou,I received an email from Nike+ Support last week regarding this problem:
Hello <Nickbou>,
Thank you for letting me know that you are seeing this error message appear when trying to upload your workouts. I can definitely understand the need to get this resolved and I will be happy to assist you.
<Nickbou>, first off I would like to say that we're sorry you're experiencing this issue. You are not alone with this issue as it is affecting the whole Nike+ Community. We're working with Apple to resolve the problem and identify where the break in data transfer is happening. We hope to have a resolution very soon.
In the meantime, what I can do is manually upload your workouts for you if you would like, or if you can hold off until the issue is resolved you can upload them through iTunes at that point.
If you would like me to upload them for you, please let me know the following;
Screen name
Email address used to access Nike+
Date and time workout began, including time zone
Workout distance in miles or kilometers
Workout average pace OR duration
(optional) Calories burned
Once I have this information, I can send a request to have your workouts uploaded.
<Nickbou>, thanks again for your patience as we work to improve the Nike+ experience overall. We appreciate you being an important part of the Nike+ Community, and we're always happy to take any suggestions or feedback you may have for us.
Respectfully,
<Nike+ Employee>
Nike+ Team
I am still having problems syncing my runs to the Nike+ site, but I'm going to wait it out a bit longer to see if they can fix the problem for everyone. However, if you don't want to wait you can contact Nike+ support and send them the information they listed in their email to me.

Jul 30, 2012 6:35 AM in response to PedroPKby christofofofof,I've had this issue since June 10th & a ticket with Nike since mid June. They're assuring me it is an iTunes issue caused by the recent Nike+ updates (so in fact an iTunes issue that Nike is to blame for). Yesterday I thought I'd hit a breakthrough in that I didn't get the error & it looked like runs were uploading, only for Nike+ website to show nothing.
Just spoke to Apple support on this issue & didn't get anyway other than "Yeah it looks like a bug, would be nice if we could fix it".
I know it's only an old iPod Nano v2 but we're still customers of Nike & Apple. We have other iPods & iPads, various other Nike+ devices or training gear. If this issue was affecting iPhone users it would have been sorted instantly.
Unlike you guys I'm also yet to be offered manual upload of the XMLs, really frustrating as I have a horror show of a half marathon to analyse.

Aug 6, 2012 10:27 AM in response to christofofofofby campnavy, wow -- experiencing the same error and stumbled across this thread... I too contacted nike ... here's what they told me...didn't help me at all but maybe it will help someone else....

Nike+ iPod is a great tool for keeping track of your run information. The "iTunes cannot connect to Nike plus website. please try back again later" error message that you are receiving is caused by one of two possibilities. The first option is that there is an issue with either the browser settings or the security on the computer blocking the connection. For this option I would like to recommend the following steps:
- Clear cache and cookies on your default web browser
- Set Google Chrome as your default browser. The Nike+ website runs the best in this specific web browser.
- Turn off Windows firewall
- Update any anti-virus program running on the computer
- If updating does not work try to temporarily disable the anti-virus on the computer
If none of the above options resolve the issue then the error message is most likely being caused by an error in iTunes. The troubleshooting for this is best handled by Apple support, but I can recommend to try removing iTunes and reinstalling it. However, this process is more complicated than it may seem which is why I advise speaking with Apple support for further assistance with this step. The phone number to contact Apple support is 1-800-MYAPPLE
Thank you for contacting Nike+ regarding the connection error message that you are receiving, and if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to get in touch with us again. We will be more than happy to assist you.

Aug 7, 2012 8:14 AM in response to Nickbouby Nickbou,Follow up:
Nike+ contacted me and told me that the problem was probably caused by a corrupted file (one of the logged runs). I copied the logged files from my iPod nano to my desktop then emailed them to Nike+. They manually entered them into the website. Meanwhile, I restored my iPod nano through iTunes which erased the previously stored runs. The next time I went running it was able to successfully upload the new run to the website.
However, after a couple runs (it might have been the 2nd or 3rd after restoring), the problem reappeared and I could not upload them to the Nike+ website. Again, I copied over the runs, emailed them to Nike+, and restored my iPod. This is a temporary fix but the underlying cause hasn't been fixed yet.
I'm suspecting it has something to do with the calibration of the accelerometer in the iPod after the run. This is just a theory which I plan on testing this week.
