Q: when i hit power to turn on it starts beeping?

Generally, if the screen remains black and it beeps when you turn on power, there is a memory issue. Could be a problem with a memory card or a logic board issue.

First, reseat the memory and see if that fixes it. Instructions on MacBook memory are here. If that doesn't work, and you have two memory cards, reverse the slots, ie, take one out then put the other in the slot just vacated then put the first card in the previous second card slot. If that doesn't work, try booting with just one card (if they are 2GB cards) and then the other card. If still not working, the next step is substitute known working memory for your memory cards. And if it still doesn't work, time to take the MacBook to an Apple store or Apple Authorized Service Provider.
