I have searched the interwebs far and wide and have concluded that you can't control your apple TV with an Apple computer; you need the original remote or an iOS device running an app.

I have yet to find any answers referring to an Apple comupter running OSX 10.8 Mountiain Lion. With the new mirroring feature built-in my new MacBook Pro, is it still impossible to control my Apple TV with my laptop (ie up, down, left, right, select, menu, play/pause)? Maybe there is something available in the Mac App Store that can do this?

I am asking because everytime I use my Apple remote with my Apple TV, the remote affects all of the Macs in my house (I know i can disable the remote feature in the Macs but that's kind of a pain)
