I have a 5th Generation Nano that will no longer sync Contacts or Calendars. I am using 10.7.4 with iTunes10.6.3.  They do not show in iTunes at all.

Several users running Mac OS X Lion and now ML (and iCloud) have no longer been able to "sync" contacts or calendars over to their older iPods models since this content is "in the cloud."

A work around is to export all of your contacts out of Address Book as vCards and them copy these vCards into your iPod's Contacts folder.  You'll need to have the Enable Disk Use option ticked from under the iPod's Summary tab in order to browse out to the iPod's Contacts folder via the Finder.

Using your iPod as a storage drive Using your iPod as a storage drive

That's the only "solution" I have been able to use to get contacts to sync/appear on my 5G iPod Video.

I'm not sure if this is possible with iCal and its available export options.  You tried exporting it as an iCal Archive (File -> Export) and then importing that over to your iPod the same way.

Thanks! This worked perfectly for my contacts.

I am just sorry Lion broke this functionality. My contacts don't change very often so this works. Does not make much sense for calendars which would have to be done manually, daily.

I didn't think so, but I thought I would suggest it anyways.

    Hello,

I know this forum is an old one, but I'm purchasing a Mac for the first time in the summer for College, and I was just wondering, did the export calendars idea work? I know it would be a pain, but it would be extremely helpfull for me to have a copy of my schedule on my when I'm not at home.

    Thanks!
