My Outlook email which is connected to my company's Exchange server seems to have frozen on my Ipad. It is not an issue with my company's server as I am receiving and managing my emails with no issue on my laptop and on my iPhone.

Emails that I have deleted are remaining in the trash folder, I have received no new emails for several hours, and I cannot access Mail, Contact, and Calendar settings at all. When I try, it just freezes and then reverts back to Home screen.

I have restarted and rebooted numerous times without success. Also have "turned off" all running applications and then rebooted/restarted without success.

When I open the email, it shows it constantly "Checking for Mail".

Any suggestions are appreciated.

are there any items which you have received on the other devices( but not on the ipad) that seem unusual in any way..large attachments, etc.? I assume also from what you have stated that you have "reset" your device as well as having had restarted it...

Have you tried going into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and turning the mail for your Exchange account off and back on?  Is your device connected to 3G/4G or Wi-Fi?  Can you get to any other sites on your device or is other email accounts working on the iPad?  You may need to delete the account and re-add it.

Thanks -yes, as noted in my message, I cannot get into Settings>Mail etc. Nothing happens when I try to access.

My Hotmail account also is not syncing.

Not sure what I can do at this point!

I see you said you reset the device...have you done a hard reset?  This is when you press and hold both the power and home button for 5 seconds or so.  When you see "Slide to power off", continuing holding till the iPad turns off by itself and you turn it back on.  You could also try backup your iPad up with iTunes and then wiping it to restore it again.  Sounds like the mail or settings app is stuck in a loop.  Can you get into your Settings at all?  If so, you could try under Settings>General>Reset, reset network settings, this will clear out your wi-fi settings and 3G if available.

Yes, I have tried the hard reset a few times.

Are you saying to just try to reset network settings?

    I am only on Wi-Fi.

Do I need to back-up first?

    Thanks.

If you reset your network settings, it will erase any saved Wi-Fi networks and their passwords, essentially forcing you to set up your Wi-Fi networks again.  Have you tried turning Wi-Fi off completely and just trying to access mail with no internet connection?

Thanks again. When I turned on the iPad to try your suggestions, the email was "magically" working!

Don't know how or why but the problem is solved.
