I removed the sync options on the work computer and enabled them on the home.
I suggest you read the thread you're posting in so as to have some clue about what is being discussed. No one said you can't change computers you sync with, WiFi or cable.
Seems some of you old fanboys dont know as much as you think. It's a sure bet that anyone posting moronic name calling, particularly "fanboys", is totally clueless.
There is no need to be so rude, even I'd this user did hack their iphone, My iPhone was supplied to by Oracle, shipped directly from At&T and after loading it with music alternatiely from two macs, my iTunes sync display has multiple devices just like Ryland's and mine is by no means hacked or jail broken in any way. I also was looking for information as to how to remove some of these devices from my iTunes sync list simply for housekeeping reasons.
Apparently, "Ryland" reset his phone and they disappeared, but it would be nice to know if there's any other way to do this's. It's not an important technical issue to be sure, and you obviously are quite competent when it comes to Apple products, so I am surprised that you felt the need to be so vehement about the "hacking" issue instead of helping him and then maybe discussing your concerns afterwards.
I manage several Systems engineers who do SAN and NAS (storage) support for our company. Customers often do foolish and infuriating things, but if one of my guys talked to another's human being like that, they would at the very least be written up and possibly even fired on the spot of I was there to see it.
If you intend to be equally rude or condescending to me becuase I wriote this critique of your methods, go ahead, I sort of expect it, though I hope you won't find it necessary as I am just trying to point out something that you did possibly with noble intentions, but handled poorly in my opinion. And it is obviously the opinion of others as well.
Yet virtually all of your post is to "critique" me, while clearly not reading much of what was posted. Once again, the issue is not syncing with more than one computer, but selectively syncing different material with different computers
If I am wrong, show us EXACTLY how the OP selectively synced different material with 3 different computers, using WiFi syncing initiated at the phone end. That is the issue you don't get. There have long been Cydia apps that provide for doing just that.
Since you have contributed absolutely nothing of value in this forum, except to "oddly" post this as your very first post (despite "joining" 2 years ago) in an inactive thread, you're not in a position to comment on the knowledge of others.
FYI, this isn't Apple customer service.
You Sir are out of your mind.
You can plug an iPhone into any computer in which you are authorized and select the checkbox to sync each individual tab with that computer. You can have apps synced with one computer, music another, and tones another.
I too just joined just to tell you to give it up. You are wrong. His phone is not jailbroken along with the 1000's of other phones which display similiarly.
You just let us know where you would like to meet so we can "Show You" how to do this. Because you like to make exlamations that are un supported and very harsh.
You are wrong. Deal with it.
Though you may be correct that I am not grasping the granularity of your distinctions between what Ryland asked and the point you seem to be trying to make, I should say that YOU did not read my post! It is not about technical issues. It is about decorum, human kindness and treating people with respect. are you Apple's Gestapo who when you suect someone broke their policies have the right to be rude and accusatory?
You remind me of the driver on the left lane of the interstate who will not pull over from other faster drivers even though he is supposed to, because he is going the speed limit and dangit everyone else can do it too! Enforcing his rules and belief system on others.
What if Rylands phone had been jail broken by his kid without his knowledge. That is perfectly reasonable as a father for tech savvy children let me tell you. Most of us here think it was not, but let's say you are correct and it was. Your attack on him started in the first reply. You never attempted to answer his question. Don't you understand what at least some of us are upset about? It's not the tech., it's the biology, the human interaction part. Face it you were rude.
In any case your were correct about one thing, this is not the forum to correct another human being's inability to communicate with patience and respect, so I will not comment on this again. Your rudeness made me make the first comment in 3 years. You were correct about that. That's how upset it made me.
You Sir are out of your mind.
At least I have a mind. If you had bothered to read this thread, I already descibed how to do manual selective syncing, which has to be done at the computer iTunes end and with a cable. You competely missed the point that the OP did his syncing automatically, via WiFI, initiated from his phone, and could not possibly do it the way you described.
From my post, the 12th in this thread:
"Actually, it is possible to do this using a manual syncing techique done from the computer end, not the phone which neither your buddy, nor yourself show any inkling of knowing about. It is explained here:
I too just joined just to tell you to give it up.
You just let us know where you would like to meet so we can "Show You"
No, you are a troll - using another sleeper ID to post - your 1st post in a forum you supposedly joined over a year ago, and just to attack me!! The tell word is "we" - you're connected with all the others here who mysteriosly posted for the 1st time, having "joined" the forum long ago, and oddly use the same laborious syntax. Put you "all" in a room to "show" me, and surprise - there would only be one.. FOS.
Your rudeness made me make the first comment in 3 years. You were correct about that. That's how upset it made me.
Do you actually think that anyone with an IQ >70 would believe you scanned dead threads and were somehow compelled to attack me for "rudeness", having never posted before?? Much more likely is that you are the same individual who already posted several "first" out-of-the blue posts using different user names, and all with the same ponderous syntax.
Your ridiculous analogy of the left lane driver, lame as it is, doesn't even relate to your claims that I'm ignorant and falsely accused the OP of hacking. Now you're admitting he hacked and implying that I'm trying to be a self appointed enforcer. WOW!!
Modular747 you are very wrong, you can selectivly sync different content, here is my iPhone and iPad screenshot.
Neither are jailbroken...
I found this thread looking for the same answer as the OP, you are stubborn and spewing misinformation to people, shutup, listen to everyone else in this thread telling you that you are wrong and a knob, go and test this for yourself!!!

Why don't you actually read instead of repeatedly posting the same nonsense under different usernames. You're getting into the psychopath mode. Read my last post, which references a prior post on how to do selective manual syncing,
THE POINT IS THAT IT CAN'T BE DONE USING WIFI SYNCING INITIATED AT THE PHONE, AS THE OP CLAIMED. If I'm wrong, explain EXACTLY how you did it. And, have the gonads to post under the same name twice - no one is fooled by your ID spoofing.
Man your a paranoid little man huh thinking that every new poster is the same person. Why so much hostility. Its been explained how to do it you just refuse to give it a try and see that it works. Or your just afraid to admit you made a mistake.
For example in the pic above you choose, 100-pc-004, which computer you want to sync with it brings you to the next screen when you select it they you choose sync now. Its fairly easy kind of the joys of apple. Since you an advid apple user I wouldnt think you would need the instruction on how to make it work. But hey everyone has your to learn something new right.iPad 2, iOS 5.0.1
Exactly how do you selectively sync different content from each computer using WiFi, with syncing initiated at the phone end? If you look at the OP's post, each computer sync lists different content. This can only be done by manual cable syncing done at the computer end.

Stop, Stop, Stop. YOUR WRONG. Why dont you re-read the original post. You read it wrong!!!! He never makes mention of initiating anything from a phone!! EVER!!
The partial quote is
"and have the Itunes wifi sync on my iphone still showing"
He is stating that in the WIFI SYNC MENU on his on phone it is STILL SHOWING .....
Where does he ever say he initiated anything on his phone. Just stop already you are out of control!
You just have to choose which one you want to sync with. when you highlight that choice it opens to the next screen. Just like when you go into settings and you select something it opens a new screen. Then once that screen is open you can choose the sync. Now keep in mind that your itunes on that computer or what ever must have the wifi sync enabled in order for that to work. I stopped doing it as it was just a PIA having to sync with mulitple computers.
