Where is Server app on the Mac App Store?

    I did that. There is no "Server" app as stated by Apple in the page listed above.

    Hi

     

    It's not called "Server App" anymore and the link you posted refers to what was available for Lion Server (not Mountain Lion Server) which is now not available.

    when you search 'os x server' it should find 2 apps ( at the time of writting this) one called OS X Server and one called DX iMouse Server.

    The following is the link the Mountain Lion Server on the UK App store.

    I would guess that the equivalent for the USA is as follows

    These links should launch the App Store program on your Mac and take you to the correct item.

     

    Note: You have to do this from a Mac already running Mountain Lion (client), you cannot download the Mountain Lion Server software on older operating systems.

    Sorry, maybe I was unclear in my OP. I'll try to explain more clearly:

     

    I upgraded my MBP to Mountain Lion. Before the upgrade, on both Snow Leopard and Lion, I had been using the Server tools (Server Admin, Workgroup Manager, etc.) on my MBP to administer my Xserve that is running Snow Leopard Server.

     

    After upgrading to ML, all of the Server admin tools on my MBP disappeared. I assume the ML installer removed them.

     

    I found a 10.8 version of Workgroup Manager that runs great on my MBP here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1567

     

    I cannot find an equivalent version of the Server Admin (or "Server" as referenced here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1822)

    There is no "server admin" for mountain lion, it's all done in server.app

    You are meant to use server for everything, wgm is only really still there to support pre lion clients

    There is no Server Admin for Mountain Lion Server.

     

    You either use the Server.app which will be located in your Applications folder, or you have to use the command line via Terminal.app.

     

    Apple have moved some of the functions that used to be in Server Admin in to the Mountain Lion version of Server.app but have left out some previous capabilities.

     

    The Server.app is the main server software that you buy via the App Store.

     

    You cannot use a Lion client with Server Admin to manage a Mountain Lion Server, nor can you use a Mountain Lion Mac to manage a Lion Server.

    Thanks for your responses, guys. I'm really not trying to come off as dense here, but I'm not understanding your suggestions.

     

    The OS X server that I need to administer (remotely) is running Snow Leopard Server.

     

    The client machine (my MBP) that I am using to do the administration is running Mountain Lion.

    So you wish to use mountain lion to administer Snow Leopard server...

    Why don't you do that via screen sharing (vnc://hostname) or via Apple Remote Desktop?

    I don't think what you want to do is possible anymore. As far as I know your only option would be to use Apple Remote Desktop (or similar) to remote control your server and run the admin tools on the server itself.

    Your only option is to use Screen Sharing (VNC) to remotely control the Snow Leopard Server and run the Server Admin and Workgroup Manager software on the Snow Leopard Server itself.

     

    I suppose a second option would be to upgrade the server to Mountain Lion Server.
