I have synced my iPad with my pc before to obtain my music off iTunes. But lately whenever I sync, a MSG pops up saying the backup for my iPad is corrupt and then the iTunes on my pc freezes and I can't do anything. Also when I synced last time not all my songs were transferred. The artist name is on my iPad but the songs are blanked out. This doesn't happen on my iPod? Any ideas what I should do?

You can try this - but you will be deleting your iPad backup.

Launch iTunes on the PC and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices. Click on your latest iPad backup in the window and then click on Delete Backup. Quit iTunes.

    Then try again.

    Thank you I'll try it!

I tried that and it worked by getting rid of the error message but now I have manually chosen which artists etc to sync and it freezes after it has completed the back up and as soon as it starts to syncs the songs

If this process wasn't working OK on the iPod I would think that either your iTunes library is corrupt or there is something corrupt in the iTunes application on the computer.

Have you tried just syncing one or two artists or even remove all of the music and then start adding one artist at a time and see what happens?

Oh? I don't know how to remove the songs from my iPad and starting fresh? I did try adding a few artists at a time- turned off auto sync and tried manual instead and it still froze. Should I uninstall iTunes on my pc and reinstall?

You can remove songs on the iPad by swiping across the song in the songs list. Tap the Songs tab at the bottom of the Music App and all of your songs appear in an alphabetical list. Swipe across a song to bring up the red delete button.

But I was thinking more in terms of unsyncing all of the music at once and starting fresh. Uncheck the Sync Music heading and when you sync it will remove all of the music at once.

Uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes is probably worth a try, but since your iPod is syncing OK, I'm just assuming that the issues is with the iPad itself. But it doesn't hurt to try that as well.
