It happens to my phone also, but its usual as iphone 4s uses lots of battery. you might want to try to take away the siri as i dont think it really helps. or off the notifications for some game apps. as it lights up it uses battery so yea.

I just started having problems yesterday. Previously, my 4s would last all day and through the night, even with heavy usage, apps open, Siri activated, location on, etc. All of a sudden, it went from that to 20% by 11am, with only very minimal usage. It didn't just dwindle over time. Anyone else with that exact same problem? I'm wondering if its a glitch that affected more than just me... now going on the second day with the same problem.

If Chuck Norris were here, he wouldn't let this happen!

    /sarcasm.

Same problem as everyone. Before activating the phone on Bell LTE network, the iPhone 4S uses some 3% battery overnight. After activation: a whooping 30% ! The battery won't last a day with very light e-mail use and no phone call! Was considering switching back to Blackberry....

But I saw this note from Apple: http://www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html

Turns out I have too many notifications and 4 push mail accounts (this did not bother Balckberry at all !). I now disable Push Mail and uses Fetch mail only. Back to the Stone Age as far as email is concerned. Yesss ! Still 100% battery after 15 minutes. No joke, it was dropping as you watch the counter.

It depends on what you want email to do.  If you have a time-sensitive situation, where you need to get email immediately, then use push, and keep a charger handy.  If not, set a 15 minute interval for checking, and save battery,  Checking for email, and maintaining a connection takes battery power.  For most people email immediacy isn't an issue.  And as for LTE, the phone is NOT LTE ready.  It can use HSPDA+ if it is available for faster data transmission.  I have no problem with battery power on ATT 4G(HSPDA) network.  A network reset may help your problem.

I have had my iPhone 4S since launch, and *consistently* I can only get around four hours of usage each day. It drains 10-15% for every hour of usage, meaning I can only get about 4 hours a day. I think that's terrible. I shouldn't have to bring my charger with me everywhere I go. It's honestly pretty frustrating.

That IS terrible, and definitely NOT right.  You have something running that shouldn't be running.  Have Apple check the phone.

Yeah. Well, during standby it's fine. It's just bad when I'm actually using it. I took it to the Apple Store a while ago and they said the battery is normal :|

No idea why Siri is impacting you.  You might try turning off 'raise to speak' as it takes battery power, and, at least on my phone, never worked well at all.  I have Siri active on my phone, and get 2 or 3 days on a charge, if I want to go that long.

It depends very much on just what you are doing with it.  Some things, like GPS can drain the battery in only 2-3 hours.  You don't get something for nothing.

I don't think I do anything too taxing on the battery. I just use apps like Safari or Reeder or sports apps most of the time.

On day 3 of my 4s battery depleting in 4 hours. I ended up trying the least invasive fixes i've read, and so far so good.

    1. Turned off all calendars.

    2. Deleted all email accounts.

    3. Rebooted phone (held power and home button simultaneously til apple logo showed.

    4. Added back in email accounts.

    5. Turned calendar back on.

    6. Ran battery down to zero and charged to 100% without interruption.

Battery seems to be back to normal. Don't know which thing actually fixed it, but it worked

    Well, done Ms. Cathy O.

Most here would rather complain about their phones than

find solutions to their problems. Starting at least at page

775, all the problems and solutions have been delineated,

but nobody is reading, just complaining.

My iPhone 4s also has pretty bad battery life. It has lost 3% in the time it has taken me to read a couple of posts - about 5-7 minutes. Not very good. I personally believe it is software driven. The recent release of OS Mountain Lion has dramatically reduced the battery life of my MacBook Air. Apple appears to be having issues with power usage with its new software - OS and apps.
