I presume you followed these steps to restore it using a USB cable: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4367
Try resetting it using the remote.

Also, here is a post from someone about following Apple's reset instructions using the USB cable and getting the same error. The solution was to also plug in the power cable.

Gino, the first link you gave me is impossible to do cuz on the monitor it just shows a mini usb cable plugging into iTunes, and yes, i did try the other solutions you gave me and none of them worked i did happen to try the solution on the "trick77" website and that didnt do anything either
