Q: Can you tell me what software can convert into a ".mp4" video which supported in iBooks Author's html widget?

I have a .mp4 video which can be played in quicktime,and also added into dashcode for make a html widget.

The html widget can run in dashboard well , but no in iBooks Author :It usually can not be added into iBooks Author , because the dataformat is not supported. Sometimes it can be added ,but when I preview in iPad, the video can not play.

I don't know why ?

I have tried lots of software to convert it into .mp4 , and got the same problem.

Can you tell me what software can convert into a ".mp4" video which supported in iBooks Author's html widget?

iBook, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

try changing th file extension to .m4a for an html widget

QuickTime10 > File > Export To > Web...

from the resulting folder, take whatever size you need from the resources folder and change the extension to .m4a. When asked select Use .m4a

the video should work...

I tried this, but obtained just an audio file.
Am I wrong?

I had been trying for hours and came accross this post. it worked like a charm the second time. I found that I had to remove all offending files from the widget in order for iBook Author to accept it and include the mp4's as m4a's.

Thanks for the suggestion. Why it works I dont know, dont care but wish Apple would do something about this obvious issue.
