Q: Magsafe adapter fraying?

I have a older early '08 MacBook pro 17", and i have a "T" shaped magsafe adapter. The magsafe adapter isnt working as it should, i have to wiggle it and get it to stay in one certain spot to work, severely overheats, its also fraying right underneath the connector that connects to the MacBook, i've heard of the replacement program for these, but never found out a date or ending period for the program, any help?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

Looks like the program ended back in May but I would still contact Apple and see if they would do anything for you. The newer ones are much better but still have issues as I already had to replace a 6 month old one for a failure and have another one that is almost 2 years old that is about to have to be replaced.
