Q: Movies
Is there a way to transfer movies from MacBook Pro to Ipad? These movies aren't from or on iTunes.

You can but shouldn't, unless you REALLY want to play them back in your desktop iTunes. Reencoding alwaystakes a lot of time and degrades quality and is generally not recommended when you can play the original files just fine.
Nevertheless, if you really want to convert, download HandBrake, it's by far the best converter and is free. (Do NOT pay anything for commercial converters, they're generally inferior to HandBrake! There's even a comparison of their speed etc. at http://www.iphonelife.com/blog/87/benchmark-excellent-multimedia-converter-handb rake-vs-commercial-apps ) It even has a batch converting mode for mass-converting (see section "Going further..." at http://www.iphonelife.com/blog/87/selecting-best-dvd-player-app-its-playing-bugf ix on using it).
