Aug 17, 2012 5:28 AM in response to drbeckmdby Gianluca,Same problem here too.
I've a mac mini late 2011 running mountain lion and a Toshiba SV685D Led TV (hdcp compliant).
Since updating to ML I'm not able to watch my purchased video content (SD and HD).
It's really very very annoying...

Aug 23, 2012 9:34 AM in response to Gianlucaby J. Tuttle,Mac mini 2010, stil back on 10.6. Seems like a new issues, though? I usually watch my purchases on ATV, but I must have tried watching before on the Mac, but now it doesn't work! Not sure I have a HDCP-compliant monitor, though.

Sep 24, 2012 11:17 PM in response to drbeckmdby bulewaras,Mac Mini 2010 rencently upgraded to Mt. Lion (same problem on both OS): I'm having the same problem with HD content, my SD plays fine. From what I am gathering the problem seems to be in the cable transfer (HDMI or DVI). My monitor is HDCP compliant as well as my TV, but because it transfers through an HDMI or DVI cable it gives the Error message. Not really sure about all that, honestly I am still just as confused as when I started... I just know that it makes it pretty pointless to purchase HD content from iTunes if I can only watch it on an little iPad or iPhone screen.

Sep 25, 2012 1:49 AM in response to bulewarasby Gianluca,So far it seems to me the only solution is stopping purchasing video content on iTunes Store until a fix to this problem will be released.
I checked different hdmi cables, powered on/off my hardware (MacMini, TV) in different combinations, but every film I bought on Itunes is protected on my TV.
I can watch on iPad and on my MacPro (with OSX 10.7) but what's the point if I'm not able to watch my films on my Home Theatre set-up?
I bought my Mac Mini specifically for audio/video media-center.

Feb 25, 2013 1:10 PM in response to drbeckmdby aandroyd,Agreed. I have 2012 mac mini with ML. My Sony bluray player can rent HD from vudu and works fine with my cable and tv, but if I use vudu on the mac mini with the same cable and tv, I get the HDCP error. This is obviously a mac mini/OSX issue. I am surprised so few people have commented on it?

Feb 17, 2014 10:02 AM in response to drbeckmdby alfonsofromlombard,I have the same issue with my 2012 Mac mini. My monitor works fine on my Macbook pro retina but not on either of my 2012 mac minis (have the i5 and i7 models). Same cable (mini DP) and monitor. HDCP error.

Mar 8, 2014 6:18 PM in response to alfonsofromlombardby feijam222,Just bought a brand new mac mini i5 intel Graphics HD4000 video card output through HDMI to an Anthem AVM 50 HDCP compliant receiver which outputs to HDCP compliant 55" samsung DCP compliant LED tv. I get the same HDCP compiant error in itunes playing any content at all. Running Maverics at the latest version 10.9.2. Apple still hasn't fixed this problem? It has been a problem for everyone ever since they came out with the original mac mini with an HDMI port. I have no choice but to return my mac mini until this is resolved. (All other devices, bluray, FIOS HD DVR work perfectly fine through this same system)

Nov 3, 2014 9:17 PM in response to drbeckmdby winkyinbc,Yep. I had it all working until I upgraded to Yosemite. Now I can't play anything at all from iTunes on my TV. This issue has been going on for years.

Nov 3, 2014 9:36 PM in response to winkyinbcby winkyinbc,Discovered that it is only an issue when using screen sharing to control the Mac Mini. Turn off SS, and the issue disappears.

Mar 1, 2015 6:00 AM in response to JJDavisby WilsonLaidlaw,Me too. Just bought Series 9 Episode 3 of Foyles War on iTunes, which was only available in HD - no warning of HDCP compliance issue. I am playing from a 2012 Mac Mini to a pretty new Philips 37pfl4007t_12 full HD TV, which is fully HDCP compliant via a high quality HDCP compliant HDMI lead. In other words the problem should not be the equipment but it looks as if it is down to Apple and the industry not getting their act together on DRM. If these programs don't work on Apple's modern equipment, Apple should not be selling them to customers. I will ask for a refund tomorrow. Yet another featurette after the fiasco of Yosemite. Memo to Apple: Stop messing around with rubbish like the Apple watch and sort out existing problems or you will alienate your core customers. It takes years to build up a loyal customer base but only days to lose it.

Mar 15, 2015 1:04 PM in response to drbeckmdby KVM_pro,The other digital solution which will not downgrade the video and audio quality is using a TMDS-EDID emulator between TV and your AppleTV or MediaPlayer/Settop boxes, such as Roku, Kindle Fire TV, Kindle Fire Stick or even some using MacMini as a media player. The TDMI-EDID adapter is a HDMI EDID HDCP emulator and feeder to the source players which checking EDID and HDCP frequently. Hundreds of cases had been solved and proofed that the HDMI EDID emulator is simply working. A large groups of engineer team had been using this solution internally to develop and test their software and hardware compatibility issues for their TVs, MediaPlayer, Set-top box and Media stick/dongles
