Aug 17, 2012 8:35 AM in response to AJRoyby varjak paw,You don't. 8playerlite is for connecting to and playing content from a streaming server. There's nothing I can find about it being able to play files locally from the iPad.

Aug 17, 2012 9:16 AM in response to AJRoyby Menneisyys,8Player is able to play back both MKV and AVI files, both from a network server and locally.
Just make sure you transfer the video files to it via File Sharing - see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4094
Nevertheless, if you want to have the best possible playback quality (8Player isn't the best player out there), go for something better if you do want to play back MKV and AVI files; for example, AVPlayerHD. See http://www.iphonelife.com/blog/87/great-video-player-avplayerhd-receives-hardwar e-mkv-avi-video-playback-support for more info on it and why it's the most recommended MKV / AVI player.
