I'm running a completely clean install of OSX 10.8. and have a problem in Mail with Exchange email aliases.

When running Mail for the first time I had to login to the Exchange server using my domain username which is different to my preferred email alias. Now, when I "reply-all" to an email thread, Mail doesn't register that one of the recipients is myself under a different alias, so it's CC'ing me via one of my aliases. So it's a little annoying. It also means I can't send email and set the "From:" field as any of my aliases except the one Exhcange domain username.

Interestingly that doesn't happen and is fine on another Mac after upgrading it from 10.7 to 10.8 using the same Exchange account. Which might make some sense if it's inheriting legacy configuration compared to a clean install.

So how do I resolve or add aliases in my fresh install of 10.8?

Have the same thing and not found a fix yet.  In fact the whole Apple Mail.app with Exchange connectivity is awful in 10.8 and I am having regular issues, brought about I believe from running the Mail.app on multiple machines.

They seem to get out of sync with each other and the only way to fix that particular problem is to perform a 'rebuild' of the mailbox.

Thank you. Worked like a charm.

This was very helpful. I actually needed this to get GPGMail to work as my GPG key is tied to an alias of my Exchange mailbox. Thanks for posting the solution, also would like to see a box in preferences to add aliases. Not sure why there isn't one.

I found this same solution trying to fix the disappearing Exchange folder problem, and got all excited for a moment until I tested it, and emails I send using an alias are received by the recipient from the main address, and the reply-to address for the recipient is also the main address.  So the only place that the alias shows is when I'm composing the email and in my sent folder on Mac Mail.  Have you tested it this way, and is it working correctly for you?
