Aug 17, 2012 1:49 PM in response to rvt3210by Demo,What have you tried? You can email a Word doc to the iPad. You can use file sharing if you have a file sharing app on the iPad.
Explain what you are doing that isn't working and we can give you better guidance.

Aug 17, 2012 1:49 PM in response to rvt3210by King_Penguin,Do you have an app on your iPad that supports Word documents ? Unlike a 'normal' computer the iPad doesn't have a file system, and everything on it has to be associated with an app. As to how you then get the document to your chosen app will depend upon what the app supports - different apps will have different ways of copying their content to/from a computer e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc.

Aug 17, 2012 1:50 PM in response to rvt3210by sberman,iPads understand MS Word format. So if you can get the document onto your iPad, you'll be able to read it.
Maybe the easiest way is to email it to an account you use on your iPad, then open the attachment.

No. That doesn't mean that you aren't very smart. it just means that you are misguided!
What app are you using to try to access this Word document? Are you familiar wih iOS file sharing? It is a way to move documents back and forth from the iPad to the computer via iTunes.
No matter whether you have a compatible app on the iPad in which to save the file, it should still open as an email attachment in the mail app. You can open and view it, but you will have no app to save it to.

Aug 17, 2012 2:11 PM in response to rvt3210by Demo,OK. Try this first. Do you have an email account set up in the mail app on the iPad?
Attach the file to an email and send it to yourself. Actually you don't even need to have an account in the mail app. You can just use the Safari web browser to get your email if you don't have email set up in the mail app.
If you do have an email account in the mail app - launch the mail app and tap on the email that you sent to yourself. You can then tap on the attachment in the email and it should open as long as it is a .doc or .docx Word file.
If you don't have email set up in the mail app, go to your webmail account in Safari to get the email.
