I am going to replace the internal DVD Player to a internal Blu-Ray Player so I need to know

if the internal DVD Player is slim or super-slim

And the goal to accomplish is?

(Beside getting the drive to fit inside, of course)

the MBP is very power full laptop and I don't like I don't have blu-ray and I don't whant to have a exteral

that's why I am going to replace it with a Blu-Ray player.

Is that wrong that I whant to replace the Player?

to this day - i haven't seen an internal bluray player made for Macbooks - I could be wrong...

to get this done - it has to be an exact duplicate of your optical drive - meaning dimensions and pin out.

If you can get a external usb Blu-Ray to work with no issues than I don't see the problem to just but it inside.

I am thinking of buting in this one. Sony Optiarc BD-5850H it have this dimencions 128 × 12,7 × 126,1 mm

big difference - mine connects via usb without opening up my macbook and taking my optical drive out...

what you plan on doing might or might not work - i do hope for your sake it does work since you'll be the first with a Macbook that has a working internal bluray player.

just make sure you know that if anything goes wrong, your warranty is out the window - if you're still under warranty that is....

If it does not work then I just use it as external player. And I know of the warrenty I called apple support and asked them what I can change without loosing my warrenty.

I think I am going to buy the sony blu-ray player and will but in more information here too tell you guys

if it did work or not for me.

I have seen on youtube ppl replacing there dvd player on iMac to internal blu-ray player.

Nothing wrong with having half an optical drive inside your Mac. No, wait. Two-thirds, actually. After all, it is no longer needed for OS maintenance since the days of the downloadable Lions.

Why? Well, if it can do it, you will be able to read and write CDs. Read and write DVDs. Read raw Blu-Ray content. OS X does not and apparently will never support Blu-Ray decoding. For some strange reason Steve and successors have decided that Blu-Ray is kaput and not worth pursuing, even though Apple is a member of the Blu-Ray Disc Association. So if you aim to watch BU movies, you will have to resort to illegal or gray-area software that may or may not work all the time. Same can be said for burning BU writable media (and hear your wallet say OUCH). But to each his own.

Me? I have an LG Super Multi BU burner on an external FW800/USB3/E-SATA enclosure, that can read or write any shape, form or kind of optical media known to man.
