Aug 20, 2012 3:03 PM in response to Soitaintmyfaultby Bimmer 7 Series,if what you say is true - 2006 Macbook Pro upgraded to i7 processor - then it would be hard to determine what kind of RAM you can use to upgrade it.
video card is not upgradeable - then again, if what you say is true about the processor getting upgraded to an i7 processor - then anything is possible...
no offense to you though - i highly doubt your macbook got upgraded to an i7 processor.

Aug 20, 2012 3:18 PM in response to Soitaintmyfaultby wjosten,I gotta say this is pure nonsense. The only way to have done this would be to swap logic boards, & to do that would require machining/engineering skills that wouldn't make any sense to use in such an endeavor. It be cheaper to just buy a new computer.

Aug 20, 2012 3:20 PM in response to Soitaintmyfaultby Jon P D,ignoring the i7 thing assuming its a typo from the person giving it to you or something
if you get it and find it's got original logic board etc then this might help you. it tells you what you can and cant change on your mac

If we assume that it's a 2006 MB Pro - the RAM you need is DDR2 - 667MHz with a maximum of 4GB.
Again, the videocard is not upgradeable.
If however, just for kicks, that your Macbook is a Franken-Book - then no one knows what RAM you need to upgrade it.
