Apple - Upgrade your Mac to OS X Mountain Lion.
If your Mac qualifies, try deleting the cache associated with the App Store..
Quit the App Store.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy / paste: ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore
Click Go them move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.appstore folder to the Trash.
Relaunch the App Store.
If that didn't help, installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo reinstalls the App Store for you.
It's ok to this even though you are already running v10.6.8.
Restart your Mac then try downloading Mountain Lion.
