My wife and I use one apple id. After the last update Siri started calling me by my Wife's name. I went to Siri's settings and changed 'my info' to my contact info. My wife than complained Siri was calling her by my name. It is an unending issue. Help!

I went to Siri's settings and changed 'my info' to my contact info.

And your wife has done the same on her iPhone - making sure "her info" is her contact info with Siri's settings?

Perhaps because you use the same Apple ID? Everyone should have their own Apple ID. That's how it's meant to work. Using separate Apple IDs should allow you to change your information and not have it change on the other person's phone.

This is pretty simple. Just ask Siri to call you __ by asking Siri:

"Call me _______ from now on."

Fill in the blank with your name.

Siri will ask to confirm this with you, if she heard you correctly, say yes.

    Done.

It isnt that simple. If you share an apple ID with your wife, as I do, then if she says to her Siri, "call me hot stuff", then my phone will call me hot stuff.

We share apple IDs for iCloud so that we know each others contacts and appointments, etc. There should be a way to tie a contact record to a device for Siri, instead of just flagging one contact as My Info and having it sync across devices.

    Apple needs to fix this.

I have a difficult question and I wanted to know if you could help me with it. It's irrelevant to this topic, but I posted a few questions and haven't received a helpful answer. Since I saw your replies to a different archived post I figured I would see if you can help on my issue. Please let me know.

Theres nothing for Apple to fix. You and your wife are each supposed to have a seperate iCloud ID's. One iCloud ID is NOT designed to be used by two different people.

You dont need to both use the same Apple ID to share calenders.

If you want to share contacts, then make a 3rd iCloud ID just for the contacts and install it on both devices.

I would also like this fixed.  My wife and I similarly use the same apple ID. Music is shared, contacts, calendars, purchases, we can use Find my IPhone. It's fantastic. But now with our new phones Siri cant keep track of which of us is which. We share devices and well, we share our lives (we are married afterall) Siri should be able to link a contact info to a device.
