Q: how much flash memory do I need on my macbook air?

I'm buying a new macbook air for grad school and will likely need to install a couple of different statistics programs. Will 128 gigabytes of flash memory be enough. I'll also be using MS office for Mac. Thanks.

MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.1)

no one but you can determine what your storage needs will be.  128gb may be enough, but if not, you could always purchase an external hard drive in the event you run out of space.

Files for mathematical applications and various office applications are not typically very big - depending of course on the amount of data they contain. More space intensive are music (or other audio) pictures and especially video files. If you have a lot of these (or anticipate using them) get the biggest solid state drive you can afford.

    Best of luck.
