I have a slightly different problem. Mail syncs with Exchange fine and I have not experienced the changed mail server issues the others have been experiencing. However, once in a while, the mail from my Exchange inbox would all disappear from Mail as if the whole Inbox is empty (save for emails from other servers like Gmail, iCloud). Orignially, I thought it was a sync problem so I deleted the account and then set it up again and waited painly for everything to sync back in. However, this phenomenom still happened randomly once in a while. This time, I just close the Mail program and restart it and then everything is back to normal.
While this is a workaround, it is nevertheless very annoying. Has anyone else experienced this with Mail and Exchange server 2007? Any ideas how this can be fixed? Thanks.

This is exactly what is happening to me... and I have been restarting the mail just like you are doing it..
Hope they fix it soon!

The problem is the internal exchange address is getting modified. If you connect once from your internal network or through a VPN, this issue should be fixed after that.
Had the same issue and after doing a VPN connection, the problem stopped manifesting itself.

Could you please expand?
My problem is that intermmittently I loose all content in all my exchange folders using mail app in mountain lion.
To my knowledge we are using exchange server 2007 here at work.
I don't have any of these problems using my idevices.

I had the same issue. My hypothesis is that the internal server address for the exchange server (configured on exchange and not on your client) was being used and this address is typically only accessible through your corporate network. The update process of checking for emails was not finding the internal exchange address and hence the mails show up as blank (not really deleted).
The way this got fixed for me was to connect from my corporate network to the exchange server and after that it had no issues using my external IP address. So if you cannot go to the corporate network physically, I would recommend connecting to your network through a VPN for one time after which the problem should not manifest itself. Its been 2 weeks for me now and no issues.

This may or may not have to do with the internal exchange address being changed, and I don't believe anyone can explain exactly what is happening (otherwise we can certainly fix it). The content from Exchange Inbox will all of a sudden disappear (in Mail) but they are somehow still there. If you search on that "empty" Inbox, you can actually still find the emails. I have tried using the Smart Folders solution or IMAP solution to access and they still have their quirks. Will be trying 10.8.1 to see if they fixed anything but not very hopeful.

Thank you for the reply. I have been having these problems when using my iMac from within our intranet at work. As I said all my idevices which I use from within and from outside the network are working just fine. It seems to be a problem with mountain lion and the mail app.

I give up... I tried doing everything you said pkasturi.. Nothing seems to work.. I did a wise thing.. switched to Outlook for my exchange mail.
Hope they fix it and send it as an update or something!

In for some luck. There is an upgrade version of mountain lion with a fix to their email.

You mean beyond 10.8.1? Where did you get this information? That would be great but have to see it to believe it at this stage.

If you uncheck the autodiscover for the exchange account it solves alot of problems.
