Make sure you're pressing the C key when you reboot the machine until the Apple logo displays.

Aug 30, 2012 2:15 PM in response to D.I. Johnsonby Chopper51,Hey. Thanks, it isn't even looking at the CD, so I never get a chance to go to disk utilities. I get system dump info on the screen with the last line stating "Panic: we are hanging here...". The apple shows up right before the system dump.
I am using the OS X Tiger dvd for the install.
Any thoughts?

Nov 10, 2012 12:36 PM in response to D.I. Johnsonby Chopper51,I reset the SMU and PRAM according to files listed above. It has made no difference.
Power Mac G5
- I have tried swapping out hard drives (since I am trying to do a clean install)
- Re-seated the memory
- Tried different suggestions for keys to hold during boot.
Nothing is helping and the Kernel dump is the same as always, as far as I can tell.
I get the flashing folder icon when I don't use the install DVD, but otherwise it is Kernel Dump time.
Please, any suggestions?
